Bugün Princeton Üniversitesi’nde düzenlenen Taubman sempozyumunun son günüydü. Çoğumuz bu hissi biliriz; son okul gününde herkesin üzerine çöken rehavet. Aslında gayet normal, çünkü her sabah 7:15’te Yoga’yla başlayıp akşam 10:00’da konser ile biten bir haftanın tatlı yorgunluğuydu bu. Son gün olmasına rağmen yine yoğun bir ders programı tekrar etti.
Bugünün ilk dersi “Atlamalar” hakkındaki bir seminerdi. Atlamalar seminerinde Prof. Mary Moran, arasında uzun mesafe olan iki notayı çalarken “legato (bağlı)” bir ses elde etmenin yollarını anlattı. Öğleden sonra Mariko Sato ile son dersimi yaptım. Akşam Richard Stolzman – Yehudi Wyner ikilisinin konseri vardı. Konserden hemen sonra parti için Butler koleji binasına gittik.
Today was the last day of the symposium. Most of us know this feeling; the relax of the last day at school. Actually it’s pretty normal, because our daily program starts at 7:15 AM with Gentle Yoga, and ends at 10:00 pm with a concert. Although it’s the last day, we were busy until the end of the day.
First lecture of the day was Prof. Mary Moran’s “Leaps” lecture. In this lecture, she talked about ways of getting a legato sound from two notes which are far away from each other. In the afternoon I had my last lesson with Mariko Sato. In the evening there was a concert of Richard Stolzman and Yehudi Wyner. Right after the concert we went to Butler College for the party.

Burada geçirdiğim bir haftada hepimiz çok şey öğrendik. Parmaklarımızın gerçek potansiyelini ortaya çıkararak tuşlara daha kararlı basmayı, parmak ucundan başlayıp omuzlarımızın dibine kadar bir koordinasyon kurmayı öğrendik. This week, at this symposium, we learnt a lot of things, Things like unleashing the potential of our fingers. Things like the coordination from our shoulders to our fingertips.
