This Max/MSP patch allows me to communicate with the Disklavier and make it repeat after me in different ways. The Brown patch on the right side takes the last played note and sequences it into a simple Bordun-Fifth accompaniment. The Red patch on the left can be configured to repeat different inputs on the Disklavier through the MIDI Input. Above video demonstrates the most basic ability, to repeat after the player with a quarter note delay and a downwards fifth transposition.
This basic idea is just a starting block of many interesting concepts, some achieved with software, some with plain old trickery 🙂
