Bestem “Piyano İçin 7 Fıkra” ile 2.lik aldım!

Çocuklar için bestelediğim “Piyano İçin 7 Fıkra” eseri BESOM Besteciler, Orkestra Şefleri ve Müzikologlar Derneği’nin Cumhuriyetin 100. yılı onuruna düzenlediği Piyano İçin Çocuk Parçaları beste yarışmasında ikincilik ödülüne layık görüldü.

My composition “7 Anectodes for Piano” has received the 2nd Prize of 100. Fıkra mı? Piyano için mi?

Müzik, anne karnından bilerek doğdumuz bir dildir aslında. Bu dili konuşabilen insanlar sayılı olabilir, fakat anlayabilen insan sayısı dünya nüfusuna daîma eşittir. Bugüne kadar bu dilde pek çok şiir, öykü, roman, destan dinlediğinize eminim; peki hiç fıkra dinlemiş miydiniz?

Kompakt, komik, öğretici formları ve beklenmedik sonları ile kolayca tespit edebilirsiniz onları. Okuyucusunu Türkçenin zarif özelliklerinden yararlanarak güldüren bir fıkrayı birebir müzik ile anlatmanın epeyce zor olacağını, sonucunun da tatmin edici olamayacağını düşünüyorum. Bir Özdemir Asaf şiirini başka bir dilde okuduğunuzu hayal edebiliyor musunuz? Beni fıkraların eğlenceli yapısını ve hatta alıştığımız ana karakterleri Temel ve Dursun’u koruyup gerisini evrensel müzik dili için yeniden düşünmeye itenler bunlardı işte.

Bu eser boyunca do notası Temel’i, si bemol notası Dursun’u temsil ediyor. Çocuklara onların hem gülerek çalışabileceği, hem de güldürerek çalabileceği bir eser defteri armağan etmeyi en önemli amacım edindim. Kelimelerin akorlara, cümlelerin armonilere dönüştüğü yedi fıkra kolaydan başlayıp zora giden, bu eseri çalışan küçük çocukları gelişen teknikleriyle beraber takip eden bir yapıya sahip. Bununla beraber en güncel çocuk gelişim psikolojisi araştırmalarıyla beraber geliştirilmiş Alman pedagoji ekolünde kullanılan öğrenim teknikleri de eserin temelini oluşturuyor.

Anecdotes? For piano?

The word “Fıkra” can be directly translated as “Anecdote” to the English language, but the Turkish meaning actually has a more specific meaning where it means a fun story/anecdote/joke which may be educational/advisory at the same time. A “Fıkra” can be any one of these literary types, or all of them at the same time.

Music is a language we all have from the very moment of birth. Every single individual in the whole world have it as their native language; being able to express yourself with it though, is an ability reserved to few. I’m sure you’ve heard countless poems, stories, novels, epics written in the language of music. What about an anecdote?

With their compact and funny scheme, and an ending you may misdeem, spotting them is easier than it may seem. Translating an anecdote from its own language to ‘music’ and trying to replicate all of its aspects would be, in my humble opinion, counterintuitive. Even if possible, I don’t see all that tedious effort leading to a completely satisfactory result. Can you imagine reading a sonnet from Shakespeare in any other language than English? These were the reasons which drove me to write a group of anecdotes in the native language of music. In my composition, the traditional protagonists of Turkish anecdotes “Temel” and “Dursun” and their humorous spirit stay; while the rest were rethought in the linguistic capabilities of music making.

C and B flat keys throughout the piece represent Temel and Dursun, respectively. My main goal was to give children a book of pieces which are both fun to learn and funny to tell. Words morph into chords, sentences turn into harmonies; we start off easy and watch it get gradually more difficult as we progress through the 7 anecdotes. They’re meant to accompany the performer on their journey of technical development. The foundation of the piece is based on the teachings of current German pedagogy; a collection of pianistic/musical elements built with years of experience and cutting edge research of development psychology, aiming for the best of all worlds in means of teaching.
